Structured Trade Finance

Landesbank Baden-Württemberg is supplementing its traditional external trade financing instruments such as documentary letters of credit or government-guaranteed buyer's credit with a range of other financing offerings. These financing models are generally based on using the goods being traded as collateral and are therefore normally referred to as structured trade financing.

Landesbank Baden-Württemberg has experience in trade financing in almost every type of commodity (raw materials, semi-finished and finished products, agricultural goods, oil and energy, steel and non-ferrous metals, consumer goods, low and high-value capital goods, etc.). Depending on the segment, geographical focus and our customers' own refinancing requirements, we can offer importers and exporters financing solutions including the following products:

  • Structured pre-export financing
  • Advance payment and advance financing solutions, e.g. using import security agreements
  • Inventory financing
  • Financing with coverage by transferring ownership, e.g. borrowing base structures
  • Financing with coverage by assigning claims (receivables-backed structures)
  • Credit insurance solutions

We offer support with these and related instruments to all our customers. Regardless of whether you manufacture or trade your products, whether you are a supplier for manufacturers abroad or supply to wholesalers and intermediaries, we can offer you solutions that will help you and your customers.
